Nancy is the Senior Health Education Specialist for the Division of Patient, Family, and Community Education within the Department of Supportive Care Medicine at City of Hope. Previous to joining City of Hope in October 2013, Nancy was the Principal Consultant for her own public health/health education consulting, Clifton‐Hawkins and Associates for 12 years. While consulting on a wide variety of public health projects in vulnerable populations, community benefit consulting had been a large part of her business. Through her work with non‐profit hospitals, Nancy has seen a number of successes and challenges to the implementation, evaluation and sustainability of solid community benefit programs delivered by health systems. Prior to entering the consulting arena in 2001, Nancy worked as a Health Educator at the County of Orange Health Care Agency in the Health Promotion and Maternal Child Health Divisions. In addition to her consulting work, Nancy is a faculty member at the University of Phoenix -Southern California Campus. She holds a professional membership in the Society for Public Health Education and is current in her certification as a Master Certified Health Education Specialist. Nancy has a double Master’s degree in Health Education & Promotion and International Health, with an emphasis in Maternal/Child Health, from Loma Linda University.
