Juan Carlos Motta leads the Domestic business for the International Brands Division of Nestle USA. Previously focused on the US Hispanic consumer, this business is now embarking on an accelerated growth agenda focused on bringing the flavors of the world to the US general market through Nestle leading international brands. The Domestic team has grown at an average rate of 10% per year leveraging the strength of such well-known Nestle brands such as Nescafe Clasico®, Maggi®, La Lechera®, Abuelita®, and Nido®.
Juan began his Nestlé career with Nestle USA in the former Friskies Petcare Division 1999 as a Marketing Associate in Glendale, California. Over the next 3 years, Juan worked on a number of brands in the dry dog portfolio and was responsible for developing consumer programs. In 2002 he was promoted to Marketing Manager for Fancy Feast® cat food.
In 2002 with the acquisition of Ralston Purina, Juan moved from Glendale to St. Louis, Missouri to join Nestlé Purina PetCare as part of the integration team. He continued on the Fancy Feast® brand with a focus on driving the brand’s innovation and product quality initiatives.
Juan was promoted in January 2005 and moved to Switzerland to serve in a general management capacity as Assistant Regional Operations Zone Americas. In this capacity Juan assisted with our North American Operations including: Mexico, United States and Canada including all of the PetCare business throughout the Americas.
Upon successful completion of his 3 year expatriate assignment, Juan returned to Nestle USA to lead the Domestic team and contribute towards the division and Nestle USA’s efforts towards the US Hispanic consumer and now Nestlé’s broader growth ambitions.
Juan graduated from the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and earned his Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Finance from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
