Marvell Allen has been the Principal Consultant & certified Career Management & Leadership Development Coach, for Millennium Career Advantage, a professional consulting and coaching practice, since 2008. Her expertise includes the design & delivery of career & leadership seminars, workshops, & conference programs, as well as motivational presentations on several career & professional topics, across several industries. Additionally, Marvell has extensive background in delivering executive, management, and staff development programs to support organizational objectives. She is a sought after speaker, mentor and consultant supporting professional women and people of color as they expand and grow their careers in the corporate, academic, & not-for-profit arenas.
Current & past clients have included such companies as Genentech, Cisco Systems, Union Bank, Hewlett-Packard, Aspera, Goodwill Industries, UC Berkeley, & SanDisk.
Marvell’s corporate experience includes the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco where she was an award-winning Sr. Learning & Organizational Development (OD) Specialist responsible for career development, (including support for diversity hiring, internships, & ERGs), organizational training & coaching, and manager/leader strategic consultation.
Prior to joining the Fed, Marvell worked as an executive/career coach & consultant with a variety of technology managers & staff in the areas of team development, leadership development, outplacement and career transition. Marvell also spent several years with the Marriott organization in HR & training management roles.
Volunteer leadership has included Co-founder & 7+ years as the Co-Chair of the Women of Color Action Network (WCAN), whose mission is to invest in women of color to help them reach their maximum potential in the workplace through professional development conferences and events. The organization has partnered with such organizations as Cisco, HP, eBay, Oracle, UC Berkeley, and Charles Schwab.
Marvell holds an undergraduate degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Masters in Political & Economic Assessment of the Pacific Rim, (International Business-Asia) from Dominican University of California in San Rafael.
