California Diversity Council Hosts Southern California Healthcare Diversity Summit

On April 28, 2016, the California Diversity Council hosted the Southern
California Healthcare Diversity Summit at AMN Healthcare in San
Diego. Attendees of the symposium gained knowledge and advice from
corporate leaders who shared insight from their personal and professional
leadership experiences.

“This summit is a great place to participate in dialogue that emphasizes
the importance of diversity in the healthcare industry,” said Dennis
Kennedy, Founder and Chair of the National Diversity Council. “Our
hope is that these discussions motivate participants to put what they have
learned into action within their own organizations.”

The half-day event featured multiple healthcare professionals from various organizations discussing topics such as
“Cultural Competence,” and “Becoming a Culture of Inclusive Excellence” The summit began at 8:00 a.m. with
registration, breakfast, and networking. Following a presentation from keynote speaker Patty McKay, Senior Director of
Learning and Talent Development at AMN Healthcare, Inc., featured panelist lead the audience in a series of discussions.
Audience members were then given the opportunity to participate in an open question and answer session.
