California Diversity Council Hosts Back-to-Back Veterans Events

The California Diversity Council hosted two veterans events this summer in an effort to help military veterans transition into the workplace. The first event, Disney’s Heroes Work Here Program - Veteran Recruitment, Engagement & Training was held on July 9, in Burbank, CA. The second event was held on July 14 in partnership with "Working Wardrobes" in Orange County, California.

"The California Diversity Councils' partnership with these two organizations have provided an opportunity for open dialogue between professional leaders and former veterans as they look to educate, encourage and inspire. These events are one way to bridge the gap between potential employees and employers so we can get veterans acclimated to the workplace," said Dennis Kennedy, Founder and CEO of the National Diversity Council.

The Disney "Heros Work Here" Program was hosted by Walt Disney's Global Diversity and Inclusion Director, Ron Wingfield. Along with the Working Wardrobes Veterans Forum, these programs provided an opportunity for veterans and organization representatives to come together in an educational forum to hear from fellow veterans and professional leaders as well as learn some of the most-effective best practices regarding veteran hiring and transitioning into a civilian workplace, along with professional development opportunities.

The council would like to thank all the sponsors, speakers, volunteers and attendees for helping make this year's summits a success.
